As I hurriedly shuffled through my email, a few stray thoughts kept circling in my head. The night before had been a blur—a mix of anticipation and desire that I couldn't quite shake off. I found myself flustered every time I recalled Alexander's deep, velvety voice whispering in my ear or the way he brushed his lips against my neck. It was...intoxicating. Normally, I wouldn't have entertained such thoughts about my boss, but there was something about Alexander Morris that made my heart race and my stomach flip. As I finished preparing his paperwork for the night, I couldn't help but glance at the elevator door every few minutes, wondering when he would arrive. My mind continued to race with memories of their encounter on his desk—the feel of his skin against mine, the taste of his lips, his dominant yet tender demeanor—and I blushed at the thought right as I heard the ding of the doors opening.

My breath hitched as I watched him walking towards my desk. I nervously played with the hem of her skirt. "Evening, Mr. Morris." I whispered.

"Good evening, Ms. North." His eyes roamed over me slowly, burning a trail from my head to my toes before finally resting on my face. The look in them made me feel both vulnerable and wanted all at once, but his words didn't seem to match as he said "Perhaps we should work at separate desks tonight."

"I understand, Sir. I'll, uh, get right on it." My voice trembled as I gathered everything he needed. I suppose I had my answer now. He really was so far above me that what happened last night meant nothing to him. No, less than nothing. He was so unimpressed by the whole thing he didn't even want to work in the same room together. My heart sank but honestly I should have known better.

I made sure to keep my distance from him as I moved around the office, depositing his files and documents on his desktop. It wasn't easy, the heat of his gaze following me everywhere. I glanced at him every now and again, noticing how he seemed increasingly agitated but trying to ignore it. He kept tapping his pen on the desk, his jaw clenched, and his eyes seemed to flicker in the low light.

"Ms. North," he said sharply, "I asked you for those reports an hour ago. Have you forgotten you're supposed to be working efficiently?"

I swallowed hard and forced myself to nod, knowing that the mistake was my own. I would have brought them to him immediately, but a client needed some research done.
